Picture
Bio:
Michael Shi is a junior at Glenelg High School in Maryland, USA, and the Co-Founder and President of the YIS Club at his school. With a strong interest in business and finance, Michael has led his teams in learning financial literacy and participating in prestigious competitions. He has conducted a thorough empirical study on the market efficiency of the US ETF markets in 2023.
Michael possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit and execution power, applying his knowledge learned from IR/Mentorship programs to solve real-world problems. As a result, he established a non-profit organization called the Peabody Harmony Project from the ground up. This experience allowed him to explore all aspects of business. Thanks to his vision and hard work, the organization has grown rapidly and gained significant acceptance from the local community.
A passionate advocate for community service, Michael devotes hundreds of volunteer hours each year. He is a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award for 2022 and 2023, and the Congressional Award: Gold Certificate for 2023. Due to his exceptional contributions to the local community, he received the Rise to the Challenge Award as one of the Community Covid Heroes in 2022. Recently, his school nominated him for the Carson Scholarship, establishing him as a national role model.
In addition, Michael is a multi-award-winning clarinetist and currently serves as a rotating principal at the Peabody Youth Orchestra. He is also a tennis athlete, serving on both his school varsity tennis team and local tennis clubs.

Who are we?
As passionate young musicians with years of formal training, we firmly believe in the vital role music plays in enriching community life. Our dedication leads us to donate our time, providing free music education opportunities and enhancing community well-being with our complimentary performances. This commitment stems from our deep conviction that music is not just an art form but a cornerstone of a thriving community.

Our Mission
The Peabody Harmony Project is dedicated to elevating communities through the transformative power of music. We fulfill this mission by providing free music tutoring to elementary and middle school students who might otherwise lack access to musical education. Additionally, we enrich the community by performing at senior living centers, hospitals, community festivals, and similar venues, all at no cost. Our efforts are aimed not only at nurturing young musical talents but also at bringing the joy and healing power of music to diverse audiences, especially those who are underrepresented and underserved.
